I will be using this post to talk about Ethics. After reading about the Social activists, it reminded me of the ethics class I am currently taking. Ethics to me is very simple and common sense. If someone is drowning, no matter how expensive the suit you have on is, you should jump and attempt to save the person. With technology emerging, we need to think about the moral and ethical consequences this brings as well. Is what Snowden did ethical? Questions like this came to my mind when I was reading the assigned readings. Questions like this are very hard to answer because, on one hand, Snowden allowed a lot of people to benefit from this but on the other hand, this affected governments across different countries and many corporations. I do think it's a valid question but it goes back to making ethical decisions simple. Does the harming of the governments and corporations overweigh the good it did to the rest of the people across the world? I still think it was the right thing to do, as it not only exposed them at that time but also put the governments on alert that their actions on consequences. What do you all think?
